India - a spiritual hub that attracts people on the path of enlightenment. My journey started here at the age of 16. My parents decided that it would expand my cultural horizon and teach me about the importance of international collaboration. They truly believe that Asia is upcoming and will out compete Europe in the near future. For me it was a truly amazing spiritual experience, but also opened my eyes in many ways. From extreme levels of poverty to beautiful beach meditations with gurus to bike discovery trips, the 4 years of my life became part of my identity.

As soon as you exit the plane in India you are hit with aromas of spice and tea. Strong smells are always present and surround you when you explore the country. Indian culture has a unique way of expressing emotions in aromas, like incense sticks for praying and well-fare or herbs to make you happy during meal time. There is a very big markets for perfumes and essential oils, which showcases the importance of aromas in this culture. In Mumbai i was first introduced to different pure essential oils extracted by hand from a local man that i was trying to buy incense sticks of. I had an argument with him that i would like only real natural flavors and not the chemically produced incense sticks. He understood quickly that he can not offer me what I need, but also realized he knows how to help me. He brought me to a small temple, there was a sadhu sitting on the ground and mixing various oils into a blend, the entire temple had vivid aromas of vanilla, massala and rose. The smell had a healing power on me and made me feel comfortable and happy without any needs. This is where my interested in essential oils started.
